306A Pro/Tran2 30-Amp 6-Circuit 2 Manual Transfer Switch with Optional Power Inlet

This was easy to install--the pre-wired box was easy to connect to my generator and to my main panel. Took me about an hour to wire in all 6 circuits, and that was working by flashlight since Helene had killed my power (the reason I put in a generator to begin with).Neighbors were using suicide cords and no transfer switch with their generators. These worked, but can be very unsafe and I'm sure that if there was a problem that burned down the house, insurance companies would frown on running not to code backup power.Anyway, this is a good one and I'd recommend it.

I have installed a few manual transfer switches over the years. I put this unit in for a friend and he loves it. He spread the word and now I’m on my 4th installation using the same switch and similar generators. It’s an easy install and it come with everything needed unless you install an outdoor receptacle as shown in the second picture. In my own home I have it connected to the lighting circuit which also feeds my WiFi, The living room and front bedroom outlets, the refrigerator and a freezer which also powers my security camera system, the main bathroom and the natural gas furnace. That’s all I need when the power goes off.

Just want I wanted, perfect

Two days after I installed this switch we lost electricity for 24 hours. The Transfer Switch worked flawlessly. Installation is easy if you're experienced working with electricity and your electrical panel. Otherwise, hire an electrician. There are two reasons I didn't give the switch 5 stars. First is the instructions are awful but there is a YouTube video that shows exactly how to do the install. Second is the meters, there is no way they are accurate. After a few hours ignored the readings. Also I think the power inlet should include a cover. I bought one on Amazon that work well but that was an additional cost.

I am happy to have this transfer switch installed. It seems to work fine and although more circuits would be nice, I am just focusing on emergency needs--e.g., sump pump (2), furnace, fridge (2), and router/modem power--depending on need and priorities. Having the ability to simply throw a circuit switch instead of running extension cables from the generator to the point of service is really nice. I am using EcoFlow Delta 2s for emergency power backup in the event of grid failure. I have two Delta 2s and will use my ALP propane inverter generator to charge one while the other is working--as needed. I am a "handy" person, but was pleased to have worked with an electrician through the install process, which is required, along with an inspection in my community.

These are well built and serve their purpose. Ensure you map out your circuits first, sometimes a breaker box is mislabeled and/or multiple breakers (not together) power a circuit.
