Worth every dollar!
If you think you want this fan, but are on the fence for whatever reason, BUY THIS FAN! I gave up buying table or floor fans bc they are noisy, weak, get dusty, flimsy, then fall over and break. That’s been my experience. But I want my bathroom to dehumidify more quickly after I shower. I wanted a fan to help that process along daily. After searching thoroughly and reading the reviews I purchased the Rowenta Turbo-Silence Table Fan 18”. I couldn’t be happier. It does everything right. My fan arrived quickly, undamaged, and had all the parts and picture instructions. The only thing missing was an allen wrench printed on the instructions, which wasn’t needed to assemble the fan, and a phillips head screwdriver that was needed. No big deal I have both those tools. I tested the fan and remote control from a distance of 12’. I could feel the fan in all modes, even silence (sleep) mode, to the appropriate degree from 12 feet away. They’re not lying it IS quiet, and the oscillation is parallel to the mode: it moves back and forth fastest on the highest speed and incrementally oscillates slower per each down shift in modes, oscillating the slowest on silence. I’m trying to come up with a reason that I need to buy another one…….This fan is fabulous - get one for yourself!

I'm a huge fan of this fan!
You're going to think I'm crazy but I own 6 of these fans. Well, technically I own 3 of the desk fans and 3 of the pedestal version but they're essentially the same fan. But, as with most consumer products, the features some people love will be hated by others. It just depends on your specific needs. One thing I think most people can appreciate in a product is its durability. I'm writing this review after more than 5 years of ownership, and can tell you that all my fans still function just as good as the day I bought them. My only complaint is that of the 6 fans I own, I think only two of them came with the required CR2032 battery for the remote (and one of those batteries was already dead and had to be replaced). It's a minor complaint that I'm willing to overlook given how great the fan is otherwise, but be prepared to purchase remote batteries separately. The reason why I love this fan so much is for the super quiet and gentle "sleep" mode. It's pretty much the only setting I use out of the 5 available. What I like about the mode is not because it's actually silent (fan noise doesn't bother me) but because the breeze is extremely slight. This is my preference for sleeping as I tend to sleep hot but too much air will make me cold. To this day I still haven't found another fan that has a setting comparable to the Rowenta. For me personally, this is the PERFECT sleep fan.But there are times when I do appreciate how quiet this thing is. And by quiet, I mean SILENT. I keep one of these in my home theater for when I get too hot but don't want a fan that makes distracting noise; I am AuDHD (autistic and ADHD) and have difficulty blocking out distractions and unwanted sensory stimuli in my environment. This fan does not overwhelm my senses the way others do, which is why I love them so much.I highly recommend this fan for anyone needing a desk fan. With 5 settings, this fan should accommodate nearly anyone: those who want a gentle breeze and those who want a hurricane in their face... Or both! Oh, and it's very stylish too!

Fan is quiet but if used outdoors must be brought inside afterwards.
This fan lives up to its promise of quiet. It's not meant for outdoor, but we use it near our table on our deck here in northern virginia where it can be sweltering. Moves air quite nicely from 6 - 10'. Fan does not compete with my outdoor music speaker. Need to pull it indoors when not in use and it's a bit heavy, but managable.

Quiet fan experience
Although this fan was a little more expensive, It was well worth the price when you see the quality and ease of setting up. The remote control is easy to use and the fan is very quiet. It also gives plenty of air movement in turbo mode. This item was well packaged and was in use within 10 minutes of box opening. Absolutely no complaints.

Great fan BUT…
It’s silent and strong, but the fan motor is so heavy, it can only point at an angle downward because there is no way to tighten the mechanism.
