build quality and leads.
A great meter, no two ways about it. Used Fluke meters before and this, believe it or not is comparable to to them in both functionality and build. The current reading part is great with the crocodile leads provided being of good quality to easily take the 10Amps the meter is able to read (alot of meter leads are not).it all comes in a semi hard, zipped case to hold the meter, and both sets of leads with easeThe orange bump case round the meter itself is hard plastic and is not able to be removed from the meter. The battery compartment is easily accessible by removing a single screw on the rear. The built in stand for the meter is incorporated into the rear of the meter and works very well. The display is very clear at all angle's and the back light is impressive. The hands free voltage sensor works very well also but needs full on contact on the surface you are testingThis function operates if you have both live and neutral at the point of test, IE a socket or a DP isolation switch or light switches and also works on Low voltage items, burgler alarm keypads and the like. It also senses cables buried in walls before you drill. the indiaction is a audible chirp and a a visual scale of 1 to 4 for how good the signal is (it will indicate 1 bar at a one inch (25mm) distance from a socket). One thing. The selection knob will not turn the 360, so you cannot go from Off to NCV Live, buth this is just being picky.Cant go wrong for the money. it is a quality item!

An excellent bit of kit at a good price
I bought this to replace an old defunct multimeter I had owned for years. It is very neatly constructed in a shock-proof case and comes in a sturdy zipped box holding both meter and leads. The meter sits comfortably in one hand but there is a pull-out stand on the back, which allows the meter to be viewed more easily when set down on a surface. Two sets of leads (86 cm, 34 in long) are supplied with both probes and small crocodile clips. On the back of the case are clips to hold the probes, although I doubt if these are particularly useful.I have a multimeter for home DIY, so the main functions I use are voltage and resistance. The full range of functions is accessed by a simple dial with a beep indicating a new function and two positions to switch off. Autoranging is built in. There is a useful backlight turned on by the push of a button. The screen is clear both with and without the backlight. Another button holds any particular reading taken.Altogether, an excellent bit of kit for home use at a good price.

useful for the DIYer
Seems to be a fair machine for the average DIY person. Meter is sturdy and has an easy to read screen. Supplied leads are a good length and provide testing options. Instruction manual is fairly clear to understand. A nice protective carry case is provided. For the price a reasonable deal.

Great Quality Multimeter for an Even Better Price
I bought this multimeter as I needed to test some adapter plugs I have for extending one plug socket into two. It performed as expected. More importantly for me though is the quality, longevity, and the price of the unit. As you can see in the photos it cam in a real sturdy box, and in an even more study carry case, with strong sides. There should be no collapsing of the case if I throw it in a box with other tools. The unit comes with a full years warranty, and detailed manual written in very good English (no Chinglish here). Comes with two sets of leads, with the standard testing probes, and a set crocodile clip leads. These can either be carried in the case, or attached to the unit when using it in the field. These are of great quality, with thick cables. The connections come with plugs to keep everything clean, and dust free. One screw reveals the battery compartment, which once again has good quality battery connections, so they should last a long time when changing the battery. The unit itself has all the functions you would normally use on a daily basis. The dial adjuster has a solid feel, and click when entering the desired setting. All in all I am really impressed with this unit for the price. It comes with everything you need. The unit is of a solid construction, and comes with its own hard wearing carry case, with quality zip. It feels a lot more expensive.Well done Crenova.

Does everything I wanted it to
I wanted a cheap one which had manual as well as auto ranging, and a min/max hold function. All boxes ticked here and easily activated.Good solid unit with nice switches and buttons. Probes with alligator clips are a must from now on, never had this before and it's so much easier. I will probably never use the probes again until I need to on a PCB.Nice carry pouch too. Very good for the money.Sample rate is a little slow for me at 3 times per second when testing things like voltage drop on a starter motor and battery load check. Just about able to give a reading in time before the starter shuts off, with setting to manual ranging it was quick enough, but I needed to do the check 3 times to get an average to be sure. The good thing is that it actually tells you this sample rate before buying. Most, even expensive ones do not give this info.
