This is correct oil fore Muncie transmissions.
I put gl5 in my Muncie after I rebuilt it, and trans didn't shift right a had a whine. Drained and refilled with VP classic gl4 and what a difference, shifts better and no more whine. Don't make the same mistake I did, be sure to use this product in your older manual transmission.

Not full bottle
I ordered this oil because I can’t find it locally but when I received the bottle I noticed that it’s short of being a full quart of oil probably by about 50 ml I would say. A quart according to the label is equivalent to 946 ml and this bottle is below 900ml and the seal was stuck to lid when I opened it but it hadn’t leaked in the package, and probably wouldn’t noticed that it was short if my gearbox didn’t require a such specific small quantity of oil to be measured.

Great for older syncro-type transmissions
My fifty year-old manual transmission car has some softer metal within the gearing design and can only use GL-4 fluid. This transmission fluid expresses that sentiment. It is GL-4 and safe to use in systems with “yellow” softer metals. The quality of the shifting didn’t change any at all from the use of the previous fluid which was Red Line MTL.However, this fluid is conventional as opposed to the RL which is fully synthetic. I prefer to use what I think was used in the car back in the day, so I changed to a conventional fluid.

Good Oil
Rebuilt my muncie in my 60 apache.This is the oil it called for.The gl5 would have eaten my synchronizers.No fear here! Thank you.

Just don’t do it
Product arrived and both caps were loose on the bottles. Absolute mess. Unimpressed. How can I send back spilled oil? I’ll just eat this one and buy locally from now on. Just be careful folks.
