Nice piece

This thing is an absolute razor. It’s super lightweight and feels solid. Lock mechanism and action takes a little while to break in but after about a week it smoothed out nicely. Would buy again.

Sharp, fun, and disappears in your pocket (but needs frequent sharpening)

Super impressed by this knife. One of the sharpest I've owned and a joy to flick open. It's a bit bigger than other blades I've carried but I've learned to appreciate it's size and ergonomics in every day use compared to smaller knives or multitools that are just useful in a pinch but not fun, ergonomic, and easy to use. What's more important is that with it's light weight and wire clip it really does just disappear in your pocket until you need it. You don't feel the size at all. Overall, happy to have joined the Spyderco club.Edit: Review at 2 weeks: Still fairly happy with this knife as an EDC with a few caveats. I've since bought and used a Spyderco sharpmaker to keep it razor sharp. I have noticed that this knife doesn't really stay "paper cutting" sharp after only 2-3 days of minor use - this consists mainly of cutting open Amazon boxes. I could attribute this with my lack of sharpening skills, though I am easily able to get a "hair shaving" edge on this knife with the sharp maker, which isn't difficult to use. I've also since learned a lot more about the various steels used in knives and this one uses CTS-BD1. I've visited many forums and watched many Youtube videos about these steel and want to echo the sentiments that in my experience, CTS-BD1 is easy to sharpen to a very nice, razor edge but it does not hold that edge for an adequate enough amount of time to perform as a regular work knife without frequent sharpening. Saying that, I did recently cut about 10 feet of living room carpet with it and it handled the job well. The only consideration of dropping this down to four stars is the price. As another reviewer commented here, $93 dollars is a premium price for the quality of steel you are getting. For $30-50+ more you can get a knife with steel that is in the upper echelon of "super steels" that all knife makers including Spyderco provide. They stay sharp for days or potentially weeks longer with daily use. Then again the premium price could also be related to being a "lightweight" addition.I've kept this knife at 5 stars because I don't just "like it", I "love it" despite the mentioned caveats.

My new favorite EDC knife!

I had always wondered what all the fuss was about with Spyderco knives and now I know why. I previously had a few Kershaw knives because they were great cheap "beater" EDC knives and I liked the ones with the flipper and assisted opening because of the convenience. My local sporting goods shop had the Spyderco Tenacious G-10 on sale so I figured I'd give it shot. I didn't understand why it was considered the "gateway" Spyderco knife so to speak until I had it in my hand. The quality was much better than I thought and I already knew that I wanted the next step up. Plus the "Spyder-flick" is so addicting and satisfying. Fast forward to a couple of weeks later. After researching all the knives that Spyderco has to offer, I knew that the Manix 2 Lightweight with the black blade was the next one that I needed to get and it definitely DID NOT disappoint as soon as it arrived. It was incredibly sharp right out of the box and at a mere 3 ounces, I can't even tell it's in my pocket. What made it even better was that I received the latest version of the Manix 2 LW instead of what is currently shown on the Amazon listing. The most recent version has both the newer CTS BD1N blade and the torx screws holding the handle together instead of the rivets in the older model which makes it easier for maintenance. I also didn't know what I what I was missing until I used the ball bearing lock on the Manix 2 for the first time. All of my previous knives had a liner lock and now after using the ball bearing lock, I don't think I'll buy another knife without it. I do want to check out the PM 2 or the Para 3 with the compression lock at some point to see how that works. It's safe to say that I'm now a Spyderco fan. The Tenacious will be new "beater" knife while the Manix 2 will be my new favorite EDC.

A must have EDC knife

Seller was absolutely amazing, received the package quick and the quality of the Spyderco Manix 2 is excellent. Ease of use and sharp blade. Handle fits well for my medium/large sized hands, the grip and the deploy options along with the safety features are well designed. Overall quality is excellent.

Awesome Knife

I absolutely love this knife. It is now my favorite edc out of the Spyderco folders I currently own, which include the Para 3 DLC, Para 3 Lightweight, Delica 4, Tenacious and an old school Merlin (with the molded clip).I was afraid the FRCP handle would feel cheap as some say it does compared to FRN, in particular the FRN on the Japan made knives such as the Delica. I was especially concerned since the FRN on my Para 3 Lightweight, which is produced in the US, feels cheap compared to the FRN on my Delica. However, the handle on this Manix 2 Lightweight feels more substantial than the than the FRN on the Para 3 Lightweight and the bi-directional texturing is better (it is sharper and provides more bite/grip - if that makes sense). Lastly, I like the ball bearing lock (even though it’s stiff) and the black handle w/ the black DLC coated blade looks awesome. To sum up my thoughts and opinion, this knife feels solid, it’s super light for the size (it’s only 3 ounces) and the quality is great. I am definitely going to continue to aim my future Spyderco knife purchases at their lightweight line-up because of this knife.I hope my review helps!
