Q: what is the difference between cabin and engine air filter cleaners and oils? Can one service both?

No...Each one is different and specifically designed for it's application. Product will last you several years. Do not use the engine air filter oil or cleaners on the cabin air filter.

Q: After cleaning the cabin filter with this kit, does the filter need to dry prior to reinstalling and, if so, how long does it take to dry?

Per K&N instructions, just let it air dry for 20 minutes. A little dampness won't affect its performance. Then apply the refresher and reinstall in your vehicle. The refresher is nowhere similar to the red oil used for the engine air filter. So a little bit of humidity in the filter seems to help the refresher cover all of the cabin filter surface.

Q: Does the cleaner have a scent?

Yes. There is a faint scent that sort of reminds me of one of those Glade "fresh outdoors" scents. I don't believe that was K&N's intent, but it just sort of turned out that way based on the type of liquid they use to saturate the gauze material in the filter element.
