Fills a niche that most Bluetooth transmitters don’t
I was having a hard time finding a phono preamp that had Bluetooth transmission. Most Bluetooth transmitters are set up for tv, computer or projectors and the like. I was looking for something with analog RCA inputs when I ran across the Manayo PM5-BT I figured I’d finally found exactly what I was after. It even had a phono/line switch and ground post! The only problem was there was a black hole regarding info on this unit such as what compression codecs it used and what compatibility it would have with the headphones I wanted to use with it. There is an older version of this without separate bass/treble or Bluetooth transmission which had more info on it and it seemed well enough rated so I took the risk on this unit. I think this is a somewhat new (2024) item from Manayo. Luckily, the risk paid off. It paired with my beats wireless headphones effortlessly and matches the turntable rather well. I never did find out what type of compression this unit uses and for that I dinged it one star but it is working great, I was able to wear my headphones on another floor of the house and didn’t loose connection and the sound is actually rather clean. I wish there was a little more headroom in the volume department but it seems loud enough for most of the music I’ve been listening to. Now I can have a record player in the living room without needing a whole component set up, just this little guy transmitting to my wireless speakers and headphones.A side note, there does appear to be a bit of latency so I wouldn’t try to use this with a tv as the lip syncing will always be a bit off I’m afraid. I’m using it for music only and it should do that perfectly.

Works as advertised, really great for the price.
Good product, great product for the price. Does exactly what I need it to do, does it well and easily. I thought bluetooth connectivity might be an issue, but it is not. Connects easily and maintains the connection.

Great little preamp
I love this thing 😄. It was exactly what I needed to connect my turntable to an old school tube amplifier, and it sounds beautiful and so clean and clear. I really like the analog power switch, and I also really like that you can switch between phono level and line level inputs with the switch - I'll probably add an RCA splitter cable and a tuner to this setup someday. I haven't played with the Bluetooth yet. Overall very happy with it!

Easy Setup and the Bluetooth transmitter is a life saver
Super easy to setup and sounds great! We recently got a great deal on a Samsung Soundbar 5.1.2 system and could not get the TV to recognize an audio only input of the record player. While it may not be a hard wired connection, but in this case the Bluetooth lets us enjoy our collection again. It connected right away and the built in volume/EQ knobs make it really handy and easy to use!

Edge case solution that mostly works.
This fits the need. I wanted a way to hook my old Mitsubishi turntable up to my new Sonos system (I didn't realize what a pain that would be). It doesn't play well with the Sonos system, but will happily connect to my Bose portable speaker. My guess is that the Sonos is looking for a "play" command from the bluetooth transmitter.Instructions are limited on this. If there was a button that you could press to send a "play" command over bluetooth I think it would solve all of my issues.Overall I don't have an issue with the box, 90% of my issues are with Sonos.

Bluetooth = problematic
Bluetooth doesn’t work properly. Don’t recommend.I leave abroad so I lost my money. Otherwise would return.

This pre-amp could be great, if only...
I really wanted to love this preamp, and for what it's worth, the Bluetooth works very well and has great range. It also looks good and feels sturdy. But being locked in at 36dB gain doesn't provide enough amplification from my turntable. When I bought it, I was thinking that 36dB gain was probably a standard, but I had to crank my receiver up pretty high to get it to normal listening levels. I did test a friend's preamp to make sure I wasn't expecting too much, and it isn't even close. I would consider a next-generation version if Manayo improves the gain. Adjustable gain like the ART DJ Pre has would be perfect.
