I looked at several different teleprompters, and this one is completely perfect. It's really the only one that includes a screen. I can't think of the last time I was this happy with a product that did EXACTLY what it was supposed to do right out of the box. Setup only took me about 5 minutes. Software took about 10 minutes. And then I was going. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this purchase, especially considering the low price point.

I read many reviews where lots of people saying they have problem connecting this prompter to imac, for some reason, they can’t get it to work.I DID NOT ENCOUNTER ANY ISSUE AT ALL. ALL I HAD TO DO IS DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE FORM ELGATO WEBSITE AND CONNECT THE DEVICE TO MY IMAC. IT WORKS JUST FINE.THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT IS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM BUT WORTH MENTIONING IS IF YOU HAVE A WIDE ANGLE LENS LIKE THE SONY 1.8 YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE PROMPTER BY USING THE RING BECAUSE THIS LENS IS SO WIDE THAT YOU COULD SEE ALL THE EDGES OF THE PROMPTER BUT LUCKILY IT COMES WITH A STAND THAT YOU CAN CONNECT TO THE PROMPTER AND SET YOUR CAMERA ON TOP OF IT SLIDE IT FORWARD ENOUGH TO THE GLASS AND THIS WILL SOLVE THIS “ NOT EVEN A PROBLEM” PROBLEM.

Overall worth it but it feels like they fumbled the details. You can't import scripts in any way, you have to manually copy paste each one which is a pain with my workflow. Even if you find the folder where scripts are saved, adding them manually there won't make them appear in the prompter. If you paste in a script and something is off, there's no way to go back, ctrl-z doesn't work. You can't select all in the prompter either so you have to manually go through and delete every chapter.They don't mention that voice sync only works if you have an RTX 2060 or better. That's understandable but would be better if it was clearly stated. Finally, this thing isn't very useful if you don't have or plan to get other elgato stuff (specifically a stream deck) since it comes with no remote control. My last gripe is a small one, but the mirror is significantly bigger than the screen and there's no way to adjust the screen angle or mirror angle so, while I can see the full screen, I also can see random wires/power cords in the mirror because it overshoots the screen and catches my floor.The things it does well are- Built in screen that works seamlessly as a 3rd monitor. This means I can look at people while on zoom with a DSLR. It also means no worrying about forgetting to charge a tablet or other external teleprompter- Works well if you already have a stream deck.- Switching between chapters/scripts is much easier than on a separate tablet based teleprompter.Overall it's worth it for me to keep it at this price but it could be so much better with a few small tweaks.

Impressed! Love how this prompter can be used with proprietary software to display scripts, time them to your speech, act as an additional display (think two chat windows side by side) or even mate to you Twitch account and display your Twitch chat directly from Twitch (how I am currently using it)My chat feels more engaged with me because it seems I am making direct eye contact while I am reading chat. Love it!Additionally, it seems that this unit can be used with just a me out any webcam, dslr, mirrorless / lens combo… it comes with a few different backplates and about 10 lens rings (mounts lens to backplate). I am using a 6400 w a Sigma 16mm prime and it’s perfect.I’m not one for writing reviews, lets alone offering such glowing endorsements, but El Gato got it right this time. Get one.

I was genuinely excited to purchase this teleprompter setup after it came highly recommended by numerous YouTubers. I spent over $500 expecting a professional-grade solution that would enhance the quality of my video lectures. Unfortunately, what I received was a half-functional, buggy product with glaring compatibility issues on Mac—and zero accountability from the company.Mac Compatibility: Misleading and ProblematicDespite being marketed as broadly compatible, the system is not fully functional with macOS. It regularly fails to initialize unless I unplug all other peripherals (including my mic), restart my machine multiple times, and pray it works. This is unacceptable for a product in this price range.Customer Support: Useless at BestTheir support is a joke. No live screen-share, no real-time troubleshooting—just endless email loops repeating steps I've already completed and denying there are any bugs in their software (specifically Elgato Hub, which is a disaster on Mac). The fact that they treat serious reliability issues as “user error” shows either incompetence or willful negligence.Return Policy: A Convenient ShieldOf course, all this became obvious after the return window closed. So now I’m stuck with a $500+ paperweight that undermines my workflow instead of supporting it. I expected this setup to save time and elevate production value. Instead, it’s a constant source of frustration and lost productivity.
