We are not halal certified but the maca is halal. Gelatinisation doesn't refer to the use of gelatine, it is a process technology which reduces the starch content and makes the product easier to digest

Q: is this made using just yellow maca root or does it contain the black red and purple root as well. Thank you

The seller had already answered this question, and they said: "Our powder is actually made up from a combination of yellow, red, purple and black roots, with the primary source being of the yellow variety (approximately 70%, with the remainder being made of other 3 in varying proportions). Q: What does 'gelatinised' mean? I use the normal organic Sevenhills maca...but they're out of stock on that. Wondering how this substitute differs?

Gelatinised means it has been parboiled already and then dehydrated again. This actually increases the availability of of nutrients, and means that you don't have to cook the rice so long. It has nothing to do with actual gelatine, but rather refers to the appearance of the rice, as once it has been parboiled it takes on a translucent appearance.
