Vaux Cordless Home Speaker + Portable Battery for Amazon Echo Dot Gen 2 Ash/Grey

Great device. I already have a similar battery device for the Echo making it portable, but this goes that step further by adding a good set of speakers to the Echo Dot in addition to portability (around 6 hours of untethered power) . For the discerning amongst you, there could be a comment that they are even better than the ones that are integral in the larger Echo. Not of course as good as some of the (very expensive) speakers available out there, but miles better than the inbuilt ones in the Dot and comparable, possibly even better, than the ones in the original Echo.Taking the sound output from the Echo Dot itself is a dissatisfying affair. The Echo Dot was released to allow people to use their own speakers after comments that the original Echo speakers, while good, did not meet the expectations of all customers. This is something that I did with my Echo Dot. Initially I connected it to a good set of bluetooth speakers (using bluetooth). The problem was the lag in the Dot-to-Speakers response when asking the Dot a question. So I ended up directly attaching the Dot to the speakers through the micro audio jack. The downside of this arrangement is that there is a need to have both devices powered all the time and the sound has to be adjusted independently (ie speakers & the Dot) which can introduce a background hum depending of the volume settings, plus of course, it's not portable.Remember I had a battery for the Echo? the downside of this is wandering round with a much more expensive device. By using the Ninety7 Vaux it gives you the ability to give the Dot wings to use around the house along with a great set of speakers. Will the sound output satisfy everyone? nope, I can spot differences from the good (expensive) set of bluetooth speakers I originally used, BUT combine good speakers with portability then that's a winner.

Primarily this device sits in my bedroom. Unlike some reviewers I've not noticed any hissing from the speaker when idle. There is a small blue LED on the back of the speaker where the power button is, but because of it's location and brightness I've not found it a distraction getting to sleep.Though the sound quality won't rival that of a bigger more dedicated speaker, it's a definite upgrade to the sound quality of the Echo Dot on it's own. It's loud enough to be used in the back garden to listen to music while doing a workout etc, even without turning the volume to max. The build quality is great - it doesn't feel like a speaker with a Dot hanging off of it, it feels like a seamless product made of good quality materials.I can't speak for it's longevity during an extended unplugged session, but I've had no issues streaming music for 2hrs+ and gives you great freedom on where you use your Echo. Switching from wired to portable modes is completely transparent too so you can keep streaming as you plug/unplug your device without interruption.Overall a brilliant buy - I have no regrets!

When this arrived I thought it was marvellous, the quality of the music for my Echo Dot was pretty good. BUT - after a few hours there was a loud popping sound and the Vaux stopped working - and it's not worked since. I received a replacement in a couple of days and, again, it seemed great. It did last 2 or 3 hours longer than the first one! But then it started to switch itself off. I'd switch it on and it would play for a few seconds and then switch off again and that's how it continued.It is sad that what could be a super add-on for the Echo Dot2 is obviously just a shoddy, poorly-made product with presumably no 'Quality Control' by the makers. Having seen what it COULD do, I would be prepared to pay more for it if it was a well-made, good quality product.I've now got all the hassle of wrapping up 2 parcels and arranging return postage. I'm not risking buying a 3rd one!

This product arrives in a very professional and neat packaging which matches its design. An Echo Dot fits seamlessly into the top and you can connect it to the speaker via the two wires which are nested below a hidden plastic flap.Positives -Music volume and quality is impressive and greatly improves those produced by the Echo Dot.Once fully charged it can play music unplugged on volumes 4/5 for roughly 6 hours. This varies dependant on the volume being played.Very nice design and is easily portable.Negatives -When I first used it I tested out its volume by requesting Alexa to turn up to volume 10. This kept resulting in the speaker switching off instantly. I think this is due to at volume 10 the batter being used faster than it is being charged as this issue did not arise once it had been charged and more regularly used.(Reason for return) A key functionality of the Alexa devices is their capability to be constantly on so they can hear requests, I find that the vaux speaker turns its self off fully every day or every 2 days so you have to turn it on before it can be used. This seems like a minor issue but over time this turns into a massive pain.Alexa is unable to hear requests as easily when it is in this device.Overall, I enjoyed this when it first arrived but the issues stated above removed some of the major functionality of the Echo Dot and so I have returned this and got a refund.

Esta bocina y pila portatil a la vez, esta Grandiosamente Fabulosa con sus 25watts de salida Suena super, esta especialmente diseñada para el echo dot 2unda generacion(no la incluye), mas sin embargo le puedes conectar cualquier dispositivo a su entrada y me es muy util porque personalmente la considero de un nitido sonido en sus agudos y graves, tiene 6 horas de duracion antes de volver a cargarla, excelente producto

Partiamo dal presupposto che è congeniata per Amazon echo di seconda generazione. Non è compatibile con la terza generazione a meno di utilizzare escamotage brutti esteticamente. La recensione a tre stelle è dovuta al fatto che lo speaker non è bluetooth come descritto quindi per me praticamente inutilizzabile. Andrebbe probabilmente rivista la descrizione. In ogni caso la qualità audio è globalmente buona a volumi moderati.

L'autonomie est de 3h ou 4h. Et le son est très correct. Il ne faut pas s'attendre à du son HIFI mais ce n'est pas ce qu'on lui demande. A recommander pour tout possesseur d'Echo Dot. Si je devais ajouter un ou plusieurs Echo Dot à ma config je reprendrais ce speaker sans hésitation.
