The advantage of using these step-up rings is that you do not need a base ring. For example: if you want to use an 82mm filter on your 67mm lens with a regular step-up ring, your installation process will be 67-82mm Step-up + Magnetic VND base Ring + VND base With a dedicated step-up ring, your installation process will be. 67-82mm Step-up + VND Base You will skip the base ring. You will always STEP-UP not STEP-DOWN Thanks

You're able to stack magnetic filters, but keep in mind it's magnets so depending on the filter's polarity it will either push or pull

I dont think you can buy the magnetic vnd separately. I think you would have to buy Magnetic ND4-ND32 separately instead.
