Q: Just receive mu griddle and it came with two metal clips, but no instructions for what they are used for.

Those metal clips enable the use of the two piece grates for the older baby Q grills that came with a one piece grate. The older grills don’t have the supports built into the bowl to support the two piece grates so the metal clips are needed. If your grill came with two piece grates out of the box, you don’t need them.

Q: Can you put two griddle plates together so I've got two half griddle?

The question is confusing, however, you can certainly put 2 griddle plates together. As is the case with thegrill racks, there will be a slight gap.

Q: Can I wash this with soap and water or is this like my cast iron skillet where you shouldn’t use soap on it?

Treat it like any cast iron cookware. Heat and oil works best and the more you use it the better it works.

Q: Do i need a half grate for the q-1200 green lp gas grill, 51070001 to fit the griddle or can it lay on top?

the stock grate is 2 piece on Q1200 so just pull one side off and put griddle down
