I was taking magnesium before bed to help with cramping & pain in my legs. It helped, but did not last through the night. I get longer relief from this extended release capsule, however it does not eliminate my pain through a full 8 hour night of sleep. Some people suggest taking 2 capsules at bedtime. Since I am waking up a lot anyway, I am going to try taking a second capsule during the night to see if it will carry me to morning. The difference between taking the magnesium and not taking it, is the difference between nightly leg cramps and a moderate level of pain. Not a full resolve, but a great improvement.

While I am not sure how it works I'll be buying it again for muscle aches and because I felt a little better. I felt it work, although it would take higher concentration to make a dent on pain level at the worst it gets.I'd also try the topical mangesium oil spray. It works instantaneously to stop muscle cramps and my vet gave the ok to use that on my elderly dog even. So far a spray has worked well as he is a super senior who turns 15 next month. He is a really great dog, and but he's been neutered. Happy they did it. He holds a grudge!

I take one capsule every night before bed and it seems to help my sleep quality. I wake up more often if I don’t take it. I’m fine with one capsule though you can take two. It seems to benefit stress and anxiety levels as well, so I highly recommend these!

This works well for migraine prevention. The time release is the key. Can’t really say it helps with sleep - but could be my age. Quality is great, price is reasonable. My only complaint is just about every delivery there is one or more broken capsules that put powder over all the others. Kind of messy.Edit: Be careful, some bottles I received were damaged and cannot return— which I didn’t know.

I was already taking many different forms of magnesium when I bought this product just to try it. My issues werestiff achy muscles, waking up after a few hours of sleeping...Random constipation I always seem to have and B/Pthat wasn't even going down with two different medications... I was using Triple Magnesium by Vital Nutrients (which has similar ingredients as this product but isn't timed release and was given to me by a holistic MD) I always felt the Triple Magnesium by Vital wasn't strong enough or maybe wasn't even being absorbed. And also double the priceand I was taking 4 pills per day.... I also have a topical magnesium called Maggie Mo that I rub on my legs before bed. Not one product seemed very effective by itself....I tried magnesium citrate for constipation but it often just ran right through me; gave me diarrhea and left me feeling depleted in general....... First day I took the Life Extension timed release...just one pill before bed, I slept better. I didn't wake up with my leg muscles cramping during the night. I wasn't constipated the next morning.. I thought it might be a fluke. But I'm about to finish my first bottle and now just ordered a second one. I seem to need a lot of magnesium..... And my B/P medications don't work half as well as this magnesium has worked since I added it to the meds. I now believe that this is the best magnesium product I've ever taken. It works because I feel it's very well absorbed, it lasts 6 hours and I don't feel deficient in magnesium anymore.

Helps me to sleep and stay asleep. I like the time release benefit. I’ve been taking these for months. Can’t live without them.

I started taking magnesium a few years ago because my anxiety problems were preventing me from sleeping well. Magnesium works wonders to calm my nerves and stop my heart from pounding when I'm trying to go to bed.But normal supplements would wear off after about 3 hours and I'd wake in the middle of the night, sometimes in a panic from the sudden return of anxiety. This time release magnesium is the perfect solution. I know it's working because I fall asleep beautifully and stay asleep for 8 hours.I used to use another brand which cost a little more than twice as much (the company's name evokes thoughts of woodworking tools and puzzles). I tried these in a bid to save some money and I was delighted to find they work exactly the same for me.I've been using this product nightly for about 2 years and I absolutely love it. I recently went on vacation and forgot to bring the bottle and for a week I had to sleep without it. There were no withdraws from the sudden cessation of the habit. Although I did notice my sleep wasn't as good as usual, it was no worse than before I started using the supplement. So I can confirm that they're not habit forming.
