Yep, this thing was definitely the problem. But this new sensor inside my 1998 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 2.7l and it fixed the code! ...☹️....but getting behind the engine and installing it was a bit of a challenge. Because as you can see from the picture below, it will break if you don't have the right angle to tighten or unloosen it

Fit my 2000 Prerunner. This sensor can be hard to find, and seemingly difficult to replace, but actually wasn't too bad. It's on the front left top of the engine, behind the belt cover, next to the injectors. You'll want to remove the belt cover (and top radiator hose), then, as I saw in a YT video, remove one of the fuel rail bolts and loosen the other to move it out of the way. Disconnect the clip of course, and use a 19mm or 3/4" deep wall socket to remove. Note, this info is for reference. I am not a mechanic nor responsible for any problems you incur based on this info. I am simply posting what I hope will help others with info that I was looking for when buying this part.

Not sure what the sensor metal is, but broke with the slightest torque on installation. Looking at the insides, it is cheaply built compared to OEM. Toyata unit is 10x as expensive and my sienna has 270K miles, so I'll buy another cheap one and try again. Did come with the crush washer, it came off in shipping and was loose in the packaging. Be careful unboxing so you don't toss it if yours falls off.My recommendation is to install hand tight, then run the car until it heats up and the thermostat opens. If it isn't leaking, give it a 1/4 turn and be done. If it leaks, give it 1/4 turn and check for leaks again. If it isn't leaking, 1/4 turn and done. If you're using the torque sheets, it may fail before you get to the torque spec.Since it broke on installation, I cannot comment on how well the sensor works. If your coolant temperature sensor is bad, your check engine light will come on and you won't pass emissions until it is fixed.

Not for a 1999 toyota corolla not sure why this one said it fits my vehicle
