Great Science Toy for the Price - I had to buy it to try for myself how much my eyes can decieve me. It was well worth the price
This toy is exactly as described. The "Mirage" is just unbelivable. It gets old after ten minutes but for the price it is an awesome toy. It amazes everybody. The frog is a little too big but that is not a problem at all. Even the frog works fine I put a silver metal ring inside it and the effect got even more amazing. light from the window reflected off the metal of the ring inside the Mirascope. And it looked like as if the window light was reflecting off of the mirage of the ring. very awesome effect. I have showed this to a lot of friends and every time I take it out of the box it still amazes me. So I guess It does Not get old!

So cool! Somewhat fragile.
I agree with other reviews, this can be fragile to handle. The plastic mirror surface essentially cannot get dirty because if you try to clean it it's VERY easy to scratch. Which ruins the effect. (Also the top and bottom came apart in my hands while trying to put it away, but it goes right back together.)The effect is a trip! I would say for the price it's totally worth it for an older/careful child. For a careless or young kid, expect this to not last beyond 1 or 2 uses.

Incredibly cool
This thing is unreal. You won't believe how cool it looks until you see it. The object inside appears as a hologram at the top of the opening, and it looks 3D, has all the colors and shapes, everything. I'm completely sold on the concept, now I'm looking for a bigger, sturdier one - but at this price, this is totally worth it.

Its ok.
Its neat, but you have to be at just the right angle to get the effect. It appears very cheaply made, the base is not attached. It gives me a headache to look at it.

i gave this to my 9 yo grand daughter and shethought it wonderfull!!!she showed it off to her parents and all her friends!!!it is plastic and not a "forever" toybut is is not low quality toy!!it fits togeather quite nicely andworks wonderfull at the right angle of viewing!!!will it break ,,, yes ..all toys will...is it worth it ?darn tooting it is !!!amaze your kids and your self if you have never seen onegreat toy and great pricedont let any one saying it is cheesy bother youwhile it is not a forever lasting toy... it will break if you step on itit will last a good whilethe worse thing i can see is the mirror finish will scratch if theymove it around with coins in it !!!and that will make it not so great to look atbut .. you are not paying a arm and a let for it!!!yes .. i highly recomend this toy!!

Two minutes of wonderous enlightenment and joyous science
I am buying another one of these because I was so impressed with the first. It's only seven dollars, and for that price, you'd be hard pressed to be able to purchase a floating frog anywhere else!I bought the first one because I remember seeing a miroscope as a kid. This one is kind of small, but considering that your kids are only going to play with it for 120 seconds, it's well worth it.Of course, you could always have your kids write a 120-word essay on it too (if you want to be put in a home after you get senile).I have to agree with others that the frog is kind of big for this device. You'll only get the full effect if viewed from just the precise angle. But put a dime in it instead, and you'll get a fascinating illusion that can be seen from a much larger field of view. It literally looks like a real dime sitting on top of a black saucer. You can try to pick it up, and your fingers go right through it.If you are a science geek like me, this will be some of the best seven bucks you've ever spent.

Crazy illusion ! Delicate material.
To get the illusion you need to be in a pretty constrained spot (45° angle top down with part of the inside mirror visible through the small hole) but... The effect is extremely good. Jaw dropping.Very good price for the result but also very sensible mirror surface (prone to scratching).
