This o-ring is compatible with Whirlpool filter housings: WHKF-DWH, WHCF-DWHV, WHCF-DWH, WHKF-DWHV & WHKF-DUF. An o-ring facilitates a water tight seal between the water filter sump and the water filter head. The most common o-rings used in water filtration are made from Buna-N material. Buna N is also commonly referred to as nitrile. This is the ideal choice for cold water filtration because they are inexpensive and have superior performance characteristics. perfect fit and filter installation tip
ordered this o-ring (2 in package) for whirlpool whcf-dwhv whole house filter that I purchased in 2005. it was a perfect fit with no leaks. the old ring had gotten a little stretched and was difficult to get to lay flat when I'd put a new filter in. that led to leakage a couple different times...I'd like to add a tip for installing new filters. when you turn the control back to the "filter" position, only turn slightly at first. let the housing fill up slowly and completely, maybe taking a minute or more. this will prevent air in the system and sediment from kicking up in your pipes. otherwise, you'll need to bleed the air out at the tub or other source that doesn't have a screen (faucets).

Great replacement o ring
Fits my whole house filter housing perfectly. Inexpensive way to extend the life of your filter assembly because the o ring is one of the first things to go. Seals well with no leaks.
